About Co-op Fortnight

Every year hundreds of co-ops and organisations across the UK work together to promote co-ops during Co-op Fortnight.

Co-op Fortnight is organised by Co-operatives UK, sponsored by some of the UK’s most successful co-operatives and brought to life by co-ops across the UK.

Launched in 2010, Co-operatives Fortnight has gone from strength to strength. In 2015 we introduced a focused activity with co-ops across the country organising 'Big Co-op Cleans' that brought people together to tidy up local public spaces or clear out their cupboards for foodbanks. After its successful introduction, The Big Co-op Clean returned for a second year in 2016.

In 2018 we celebrated the difference co-ops make across the UK, published The Co-op Economy Report, which revealed co-ops are twice as likely to survive the difficult first five years compared to other businesses, and produced a short film Co-operate (please share on FacebookTwitterYouTube).

Last year, in 2019, we encouraged people to come together in two weeks of mass co-operation. In a practical demonstration of our shared co-operative values, co-ops worked together to protect community spaces, hold cooking and gardening activities, host celebration events and spread acts of kindness and co-operation in their communities. The theme for 2020 is #KeepCooperating, as we harness the changed behaviour that we've seen during the COVID19 pandemic, and encourage people to #KeepCooperating.

In 2021 the theme will be #JoinACoop - providing an opportunity to celebrate our members, spread the word about the benefits of membership and encourage people across the UK to #JoinACoop

From 22 June to 5 July 2020, join us to encourage everyone to #KeepCooperating. Get involved >
