About us
As the voice of the UK’s co-operative movement, we empower and support co-operative enterprise with specialised knowledge and expertise, to grow the co-operative economy and create a fairer society.
What is Co-operatives UK?
The UK’s authority on co-operatives, Co-operatives UK empowers member-owned business to thrive. We provide expertise across governance, HR, training, and networking to grow the co-operative economy, ensuring every co-operative can build strong, sustainable member ownership.
From football clubs and farms to convenience stores and community hubs, the UK’s 7,000+ co-operatives share our commitment to a fairer society through shared wealth and member control. Through expert advice and support, development and advocacy, we champion co-operatives and co-operation in the UK and internationally through the International Cooperative Alliance.
Our vision is to build a better world through co-operation.
Our mission is to empower and grow the UK's co-operative economy by being the voice of co-operation and member ownership.
How do we do this?
We promote co-ops by lobbying policy makers and raising awareness of co-ops to the public through our campaigning activities.
We develop co-ops by providing specialist advice to co-operatives, mutuals, public institutions and government - while also delivering grassroots projects to grow the sector.
We unite co-ops by organising national events, local workshops and networking sessions so co-ops can connect, learn and do business together.
