This report demonstrates the resilience, growth and power of co-operation. Ahead of the political party conference season, I urge all parties to move away from business as usual and embrace those democratic business models that are giving people real power, control and a stake in the future.
– Rose Marley, CEO of Co-operatives UK

How do we compile the report?

The Co-operative and Democratic Economy report is compiled by Co-operatives UK on behalf of the UK co-operative movement. The report analyses data from thousands of co-op businesses across the UK. In 2023 we broadened out the report to include mutuals. We outline our methodology and data sources in each report.
