£45,000 worth of advice awarded through The Hive

We are pleased to announce £45,000 worth of expert advice has been awarded to 41 groups through The Hive – our co-operative business support programme in partnership with The Co-operative Bank.

Through The Hive, we invite applications from groups who need help to set up or grow a co-operatively run business or organisation. Successful groups are then matched with an expert business adviser or a mentor from an established co-operative business who has ‘been there and done it’ to provide them with the support they need.

The 41 successful groups span an exciting range of sectors, from a community football club in Merseyside, a new tourist venture in Lincoln and a local bakery in Leeds to a multi-purpose studios, cafe and event space in Birmingham.

Successful applications to The Hive include Litherland REMYCA FC, a Merseyside community football club with 25 teams, spanning under-7s to over-50s, which has applied for support to convert to a co-operative, and Joseph Banks Ltd, a new social business based in uphill Lincoln, which has applied to The Hive to get an experienced peer mentor on board to advise them.

If you are part of a new or existing co-operative you can apply to The Hive for support, with support being allocated on a monthly basis. Click here for more information.
