About the training

Coaching is a development method used where an expert/experienced person supports another person to achieve a specific personal or professional goal through the means of training and guidance.

Aimed at an introductory level, this practical session will focus on what coaching is, why it's beneficial while also giving you time to practice coaching skills. Using breakout rooms you will have the opportunity to coach and be coached.

We will cover coaching methods such as the GROW model to help you provide successful coaching conversations. A good coach knows how to ask great questions, so we will look at different questioning methods and the advantages of each.

There will be plenty of time to practice your skills and learn from each other.

About the trainer

Jenny’s experience of forming communities, culture change and engagement in the workplace stems from her PhD in community formation. She has presented her research at national and international conferences. She has worked with Local Government and the NHS, supporting organisations to develop and enhance their working environments to build a strong working culture. As a member of the management team at Co-operatives UK, she helps organisations create cultural shifts so that they can work more effectively and cooperatively. One of her favourite things to do outside of work is to unpick the plot of books at her community book club.
