Now you've completed steps 1-5 you're ready to register your co-op. 

Our simple registration service

We will:

  • Register (incorporate) your co-operative or community organisation with the relevant registrar 
  • Guide you through the process wherever you get stuck. Look out for prompts to contact our advice team – but remember to save your progress as you go!

Registration

While subsidies last, registration costs £200 + VAT (including the statutory fee). This fee is significantly subsidised thanks to our partnership with The Co‑operative Bank. 

The £200 + VAT subsidised fee includes up to six amendments to the model governing documents. If you need more than six amendments, please contact [email protected] to confirm the final fee.

Co‑operatives UK reserves the right to charge more if your co-operative requires additional advice or services beyond this package of support. Subsidies are expected to end in September 2026.

What happens next?

From late 2026, after the subsidised registration service ends, there will be two packages.

  • Draft governing documents using our standard models (no amendments)
  • Provide essential advice
  • Manage registration with the relevant registrar
  • £325 + VAT, plus statutory fees (see below)

  • Draft governing documents with your requested amendments 
  • Provide tailored advice 
  • Manage registration with the relevant registrar 
  • From £500 + VAT, plus statutory fees (see below)

Statutory fees (paid to the registrar)

FCA

  • No changes to model rules: £40 
  • Up to six changes: £120* 
  • Up to 10 changes: £250*

Companies House

  • Company Limited by Guarantee/Shares: £100* 
  • Community Interest Company: £115* 

* If you want to amend articles or rules, the Advanced Package will be required.
