Actions to take
- Review and update your policies and procedures to ensure they comply with the upcoming changes, particularly those due to come into effect in April 2026. You will need to consider:
- Your family friendly rights policies
- Your sickness absence policy and procedures. If you do not have a robust absence management approach in place, you should consider implementing one now
- Your bereavement/compassionate leave policy
- Your whistleblowing policy
- Review your use of zero hours and low hours contracts and consider what steps you may need to put in place before the changes come into effect
