Discover Co-ops webinar: Housing

We're working in partnership with the Centre for Democratic Business, thanks to funding from The Co-operative Bank, to deliver a series of FREE webinars to discover co-ops.

It’s difficult not to be aware of the UK housing crisis, with the huge rise in the private rented sector, and the increase in property prices. More than ever, affordability and long-term tenancy are vital for millions of people across the country. 

This session explores co-operative models for housing – such as housing co-ops, cohousing, and Mutual Home Ownership Societies offer powerful alternatives that put residents at the heart of decision making.

• Bridport Cohousing (Monica King): Community Benefit Society-led cohousing project offering 53 affordable, sustainable homes with shared facilities
• LATCH – Leeds Action to Create Homes (James Hartley): Community owned organisation that refurbishes empty homes into supported housing, offering training and employment opportunities.
