The Co-operative Bank

Co-operative Bank logo

The Co-operative Bank was born from the co-operative movement, back in 1872, and co-operative values continue to be a fundamental part of everything we do.

We’re the only UK high street bank with a customer-led Ethical Policy that guides how we do business, who we provide banking services to, and the causes we campaign for. In January 2025 we returned to mutual ownership as part of the Coventry Building Society Group.

We believe that doing good is as important as doing well in business.

We’re driven by our customers’ values and committed to supporting registered charities, co-operatives, credit unions and community-interest companies. That’s why we offer a dedicated Charity and Community Bank Account with no monthly service fee, that’s been designed specifically for your needs.
