Witherslack
The Witherslack Community Shop was established in 2007 to enable the local community to own and run local retail services for the areas of Witherslack, Meathop, Ulpha and neighbouring communities of the Lake District.
The shop sells a wide range of groceries, fresh and frozen local produce, local damson items, Suma and Ecover ranges, bird nuts, greeting cards, stationery, tobacco, kindling, walks and cycle leaflets and the Westmorland Gazette.
The shop caters for the many cyclists that pass by with homemade cakes, energy drinks, bananas, water top-ups, bottled water and soft drinks, ice creams, etc. Several long-distance cycle paths pass the shop, including the Bay Cycleway, Route 700.
