The Windmill Community Pub

The Windmill pub in Charlton is often regarded as ‘Hitchin’s country pub’.

The Save The Windmill campaign aims to save The Windmill in Charlton and create a thriving pub, putting community at its heart. The campaign is run by, and for, people who care about the pub and its car park. The Windmill community wants to ensure these valuable community assets are put back in the right hands and remain there for many years to come.

The campaign group has set up a community benefit society called the Windmill Community Pub Ltd (WCPL). The WCPL aims to buy and restore the pub and car park, and recruit a tenant.
