Description:
Allotment society.
Whitemoor Garden Holders Association (WGHA) is a 17 acre site next to Wilkinson Street tram stop, which lies in between the River Leen and the ring road.
Whitemoor is a large, well-managed and popular allotment site that was first established in the 1920s when the land was donated by Shipstone’s Brewery. The site is owned by Nottingham City Council and is managed by a committee of volunteers that are elected each year by the WGHA members, the tenants of the gardens. It’s not generally open to the public other than on certain open days, although visitors are welcome to come in to the shop on Saturday mornings whilst the main gates are open.
