A Way Prepared

The society exists to work with and support a specific community of women who are disproportionately affected by domestic abuse, housing inequality, and systemic disadvantage. Particularly: Black women, Women of colour, Women with lived experience of homelessness, trauma, or abuse, Women facing intersectional barriers to safety and stability.

A Way Prepared is rooted in culturally responsive, trauma-informed practice and aims to address the gaps in existing services for these women—who are often overlooked or underserved by traditional systems. The society’s approach is shaped by lived experience,
community leadership, and a commitment to justice and equity.
