Scottish Shellfish Marketing Group

The Scottish Shellfish Marketing Group (SSMG) was established in 1992 and is now the leading sales organisation for farmed shellfish in the United Kingdom. Its members produce shellfish of the highest quality along the entire Western seaboard of Scotland, from Kintyre in the South to the Shetland Isles in the North. This geographical spread of production ensures a consistent and reliable supply of top quality shellfish to the market. The main live product lines are rope-grown mussels, King and Queen scallops and Pacific oysters.

SSMG also produces an increasingly popular range of added value chilled products to retail and catering outlets throughout the UK and Europe. SSMG owns and operates a centralised packing, processing, and dispatch facility on the Motherwell Food Park in Lanarkshire.
