Description:

Redgrave Community Shop supports the local community with the sale of groceries, newspapers etc at affordable prices. The shop is entirely run and managed by local volunteers who give up their time and expertise to support the broader community. Redgrave Community Shop is located in the heart of the Suffolk village of Redgrave, opposite the village pond and on the site of the original village shop which closed in 2003.

The shop supports local producers and, where possible, provides the goods that the local community requests. A relaunch in 2011 introduced a number of new local producers which have been popularly received and increased takings.

Redgrave Shop opened in 2007 and receives popular support from the local community as well as passing and visiting trade.

Officially the shop trades as a “Industrial & Provident Society for the Benefit of the Community” and is regulated by the FCA. Accounts are submitted every year and made available to the community at the AGM. A committee of 8 volunteers manages the shop with the assistance of a Stock sub-committee who make decisions about the goods sold in the shop and make regular visits to wholesale and retail outlets to re-stock.
