POD Calder Valley

Registered as a Community Benefit Society in August 2024, POD is a new shared transport scheme in the Upper Calder Valley in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. Our first project is a car share scheme operating with five hybrid cars based in Hebden Bridge and Todmorden. POD will offer a vital alternative to private car ownership in this semi-rural area. By reducing car ownership and use, we aim to encourage active travel, decrease pollution, and alleviate congestion. In the longer term, we plan to replace our hybrid vehicles with electric vehicles and extend into e-bike rental, alongside projects to encourage active travel.
