We are a not-for-profit that offers accounts for anyone who works or lives in the boroughs of Burnley, Pendle, South Craven, Ribble Valley, Rossendale, Hyndburn, Blackburn, Preston, Lancaster or Cumbria. We operate from branches in Burnley and Colne, telephone banking during branch hours, 24/7 online accounts area and a secure mobile app.
Nelson Community Credit Union started in 1982 with 15 members and a first collection of £75. Having enjoyed success after success, it was agreed that the benefits of NCCU should be available to the whole of Pendle, and in October 2005 NCCU merged with Colne & District Credit Union to form Pendle Community Credit Union. On the 1st October 2013 Pendle Community Credit Union merged with Burnley Area Community Credit Union to create Pennine Community Credit Union. Over recent years our common bond has been extended to cover the South Craven area, the Ribble Valley and Preston. In 2021 Northern Community Bank extended its common bond to include the county of Cumbria. Northern Community Bank now has assets of over £27million.
