High Lane
High Lane is 10 miles to the south-east of Stockport in the foothills of the Pennines, and on clear days it affords some excellent views of Stockport, the city of Manchester and the nearby hills.
High Lane Conservative Club is right in the centre of the Village on the main A6
It is bordered by the villages of Marple to the north; Hazel Grove to the west. The village lies on either side of the A6 road with the main part of the village spread along this road and has a range of shops located in two blocks, separated by the Medical Centre, St Thomas’s Church, the Library and the War Memorial in the centre of the village.
The village sits on the Macclesfield Canal, the Middlewood Way and the A6, a major trunk road in England The nearest railway station to High Lane is Middlewood. The very long Disley Tunnel, on the Hope Valley Line, passes underneath the village.
There are three parks in High Lane, Brookside Park, Windlehurst Park and High Lane Park, and at the edge of the village is Wybersley Hall, and Lyme Hall and Park is only 1.0km away
High Lane has many local groups that take a pride in the village and have developed a community spirit that the area continues to thrive in this rural location.
