Directory of Co-operatives
Greenwich Co-operative Development Agency offers local support, advice, and training for all forms of social enterprise initiatives to tackle disadvantage and poverty. It supports communities in creating local services through self-help organisations based on democratic participation and control. Services are targeted to those most disadvantaged in the community: single parents, people with disabilities, refugees, mothers returning to work, local BME communities and people in long term unemployment or on benefits. Over the past five years, GCDA has supported social firms, conversion of local authority services and more than 30 co-operatives and other local initiatives. During the same period, 26 different funded projects have been delivered and turn over has been close to GBP1 million.
