Durham Alliance For Community Care

DACC provides high quality local day care so that older people in County Durham can remain in their communities. This approach has advantages for Club Members, Carers and the wider Community: - Our older citizens can continue to be valuable assets to their communities, while benefiting from a wider circle of friends, and from a change in their daily environment. - Home-carers get much needed respite.- Keeping care local means investment in the local economy.
DACC was formed in 1994. As a Society for the Benefit of the Community (Registered Society No. 28016R), it has charity status with the Inland Revenue . Our Management Board is made up of volunteers, and any financial surplus is used to improve the care DACC provides. DACC currently holds contracts with Durham County Council Social Services Department. It is currently talking to a number of other agencies with the aim of expanding its operations.
