Dol-llys Housing was formed in 1992 by 6 families to purchase the house, originally a regency country house but then empty and owned by Powys County Council, and 14 acres of grounds. Dol-llys Housing was legally established as a housing co-operative as this was the most appropriate way to make a shared purchase.
