Crigglestone Day Care

Situated within Crigglestone Nursery School, our day care was opened by the Governing Body of the Nursery in around 2003. In April 2013 the responsibility for day care was transferred away from the Nursery School and is now run by an Industrial and Provident Society (Social Enterprise) on a not for profit basis and overseen by a Board of Directors.

We offer full day care for children from the age of around 8 months to school age. Our rooms are well equipped and we work hard to maintain a 'home from home' atmosphere where love, care and security is provided alongside the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage guidance.

We open from 7.45am-6pm Monday to Friday, closing only on Bank holidays and for one week at Christmas.

Our staff team are well qualified, mature and have the best interests of our children at heart. All staff hold enhanced DBS (formerly CRB) checks, and staff turnover is very low.

Our onsite kitchen has a 5 star food hygiene rating from Wakefield Council. Our menus are planned to ensure variety and a good balance of nutrients and food types, and much of the food we serve is home made by our cook. We cater for special diets and allergies.

We take the safety of our children very seriously and all of our entrance doors have key code or key fob entry systems. These incorporate a buzzer system for parents and visitors to request access. Parents notify us in writing of all individuals authorised to collect their children and we have passwords in place as an additional security measure.
