Craven Grain Storage is typical of the national network of central grain handling co-operatives established in many parts of the country. Central grain storage offers many benefits including easing the burden on farm labour and resources, the avoidance of penalties for inadequate on farm storage and the opportunity of obtaining premiums from millers and other outlets, for consistency of quality and supply.
Graven storage was formed in 1980 as a 6000 tonne purpose built grain store on a site of approximately two acres, situated well away from residential areas and with access to all normal utilities and services.
