The British Onion Producers' Association (BOPA)

The British Onion Producers' Association was formed in 1986 with the following objectives:

*Improving quality standards
*Ensuring year round continuity of Quality British Onions
*Encouraging the development of better varieties and improved growing techniques through working alongside the Horticultural Development Council
*Encouraging exports
*Promotional activities and market research
*Providing information to members to help secure the profitability of growing British onions, in the format of a monthly newsletter
*Political & regulatory issues are addressed both at DEFRA and EU levels.

British Onions is administered by British Growers Association.
