Bristol Power Co-operative

We aim to cover the roofs of Bristol with co-operatively owned solar panels, providing significant amounts of renewable energy to people in the City, greatly reducing their electricity bills and so reducing fuel poverty. The co-operative model is ideal as it removes risk to the residents and reduces the barriers to installation, since the members are the residents and roof-owners themselves. We are undertaking a campaign of consultation and education in renewable energy, called Streets of Solar. Our model is scalable and we are sharing ideas with other Cities.
