Blaze Studio

Blaze is one of Bristol’s most well established makers co-operative and gallery shops. It was founded in 2003 by Hanne Rysgaard together with a group of ceramics graduates. They furnished and equipped the studio with the spoils of the now defunct UWE ceramics course which closed that year and promptly set about creating a busy and productive studio gallery.

Since then Blaze has gone through many changes and has developed the retail shop side whilst maintaining workshop space below stairs for artists and makers of many disciplines.

In recent years Blaze has continued to develop the shop space even further and now shows more work by more people than ever before. Regularly featured in the local and national press, Blaze has established a solid reputation for selling top quality products, almost completely made by hand, and within a few miles of the shop.

We take great pride in supporting Bristol’s independent shop culture and provide many local creatives with an outlet for their work. We have flexible membership terms and provide studio space, gallery space and a means of selling the work of artists – whether they join the Blaze co-op or continue to work independently.
