Bishopwearmouth Co-operative is a unique local ‘Not-for-Profit’ Community Interest Company delivering a wide range of high quality professional horticultural and floristry services to customers across the North East. All of the profits generated from the Garden Centre and Landscaping are then invested into the company to enable us to provide paid employment, education, training and work-based placements for vulnerable adults that may have moderate to severe learning disabilities; physical disability; severe and enduring mental health needs; behaviours that challenge; and / or have other complex needs, We focus on reducing inequalities for disabled adults and help support them to move on to greater independence, promoting social inclusion, equality and involvement within our local community.

Our innovative ‘not-for-profit’ approach has enabled our Company to provide disabled adults with 15 Supported employment opportunities,47 Day Care placements, access to many work-based training opportunities within the community.

Our Landscape team offer a high quality service specialising in the commercial, residential and private sector within the North East area. Our services include general grounds maintenance, hard and soft landscaping, in addition we also offer the following services: Garden clearance & maintenance, Grass cutting, Hedge trimming, Flower / Shrub bed maintenance, Snow clearing and salting service, Green waste removal and recycling, Turfing & Seeding Shrubs, Hanging Baskets & Planters, Interior planting, Chemical Weed control

Our Day Care service is for adults with disabilities mental health needs and older people. People can access the service using their own finances or through using individual budgets. In addition personal care and one to one support are also available at an additional cost.

Bishopwearmouth Nursery provides a supportive environment where people can socialise, gain confidence, develop their skills and friendships, enabling people not only to gain new interests but to also share experiences with others.
