Appin Community Co-operative
The community co-op was formally set up as a friendly society in 1983. The co-op's aim was to protect the village shop which was an essential service in our fragile community and to help develop the local economy.
We took over Port Appin Stores in 1984 and have gone on to build a popular and successful business with store profits being ploughed back into the community. Since 1991, store profits fund, in part, the charitable support work of the Appin Community Trust.
In 2001 we built a new shop which are our current premises and in 2013 we took over the old shop again as a going concern - Appin Craft Shop.
Coop membership is open to anyone with Appin's interest at heart.
