Abergavenny Community Cinema

We're determined to secure Abergavenny Community Cinema's future as a flourishing, community-led venue. With the cinema currently for sale, its role as a cultural hub is at risk. That's why we're working to preserve this cherished 100-year-old landmark by transforming it into a vibrant cinema run by and for our community.

As a Community Benefit Society, we plan to raise the necessary funds through community shares, public donations, and a Community Asset Loan. Our primary objective is to purchase the building and operate it as an affordable, inclusive venue. This won't just be a cinema; it will be a welcoming community space that truly serves Abergavenny.

Imagine a place where new releases meet beloved classics, where we host exciting themed events and offer special programming for young audiences. We also envision the possibility of a bar & café, potentially in partnership with local businesses or pop-up suppliers in Gabb Square, making the building a dynamic hub for all residents throughout the day.
