I have founded and worked in many place-based co-operatives and community businesses in Oxford and have firsthand experience of business and organisational development.

I have an interest and experience in community-ownership & management of land and buildings as well as community-led housing. Notable projects I’ve founded or supported include:

  • Owned By Oxford - secured £170K of funding and built a consortium of city-wide partners and Oxford City Council for a community-wealth building programme.
  • Makespace Oxford - a social enterprise bringing empty properties into meanwhile community use
  • The Children’s Allotment – a childcare co-operative using disused allotment land through community asset transfer

My strengths lie in: supporting and mentoring new start-ups; legal & organisational structures; co-operative governance; community engagement & facilitation; organisational & systems development; strategic and business planning and fundraising & bid writing.

I’ve completed the Co-op Culture Barefoot Co-operative Development Practitioner Training.
