I’ve been campaigning on environmental issues for over 30 years, and I’m delighted to share my experiences at Co-op Congress. The co-op movement has campaigned on social issues for years – from reducing plastics and the creation of the first compostable carrier bag, to violence against shop workers and modern slavery. Coming together with one voice will always have a stronger impact and at Congress we'll hear about the issues you want the co-op movement to campaign about.
– Chris Packham, naturalist, broadcaster and environmental campaigner

Subject to Covid restrictions, this hybrid event will see speakers and a reduced audience broadcasting from Stretford Public Hall, whilst other delegates join online.

“We are delighted to welcome such a formidable range of speakers to the beautifully restored and community owned Stretford Public Hall for this year's Co-op Congress. Like the co-operative movement, this building is steeped in history but representative of what we can achieve in the future through the distribution of power and wealth,” says Co-operatives UK CEO, Rose Marley.

We're tackling some big questions at Congress including how to rebuild the economy, the big issues facing our society and a call out to invest in our youth. We'll also be taking a good look at the UK's 'best kept secret' – co-ops! And how a new era of co-operation is emerging once again at the cusp of an industrial revolution that will provide a beacon of hope for a fair and equitable future for all.
– Co-operatives UK CEO, Rose Marley.

“Thanks to the support of The Co-operative Bank, we will be live casting across the UK and for the first time, making Congress available free of charge to our members’ members. So anyone who is a member of a co-op is welcome to attend and join the movement in solidarity at this pivotal moment in time.”

Melissa Johns, Actor and Co-Director of TripleC says:

"I will be hosting a session at this year's Co-op Congress, as I am personally fascinated about the co-op business model and all of the achievements of the co-operative movement over the last 150 years and how that might inform our future. I believe people are looking for fair and equitable ways to do business and lead their lives and I'm fascinated to find out more about the future plans for the movement and the women that are leading it!"
