Enhancing member value at Co-operatives UK with 'member-first' online features

As part of a member-focused programme of improvements, Co-operatives UK has launched the first phase of a range of new website features.
The improvements – delivered by our member Agile Collective – are the result of research, conducted by our member Outlandish, which explored how members use the website and what they need to engage more effectively with Co-operatives UK.
New and improved Co-op Directory
Our reimagined Co-op Directory now offers:
- A comprehensive map featuring all co-operatives in the UK, with Co-operatives UK members prominently featured
- A heat-map to visualise the spread of co-operatives across the country
- Enhanced search functionality
Help us improve: Members can check and update their directory details to ensure accuracy. Listings are subject to an approval process to maintain high-quality information. Visit the directory.
DotCoop and Digital Commons Cooperative are also launching a Co-operative World Map on Monday 25 November to mark the launch of the International Year of Co-operatives 2025.
Getting the most from our website
All Co-operatives UK members can create their own account to access great member-only resources like our directors and finance toolkits. Simply head over to the login area.
When creating an account using an email, we'll check if the address is linked to a certified Co-operatives UK member.
- If it is, you'll get access straight away
- If not, you'll need your Co-operatives UK membership number (it's seven characters starting with M followed by six numbers: MXXXXXX)

Improved Member area
Our members-only area now includes:
- The ability to manage email subscriptions and edit directory descriptions
- Functionality to add links and – coming soon – upload your organisation's logo to your listing
- A new "magic link" feature for easy login if you've forgotten your details – just click, and you're in
- Further improvements to the members-only area will continue in 2025
What’s next?
These changes are just the start of an exciting journey to make our website and services even more valuable for our members. We’ll be rolling out more updates in 2025, all based on member feedback.
