Some co-ops may have received an urgent communication from Domains.coop saying that they are no longer able to support email and hosting services, including website builders from 1 May 2020.

If you use Domains.coop for these services, alternative providers need to be put in place quickly. We’ve provided some simple guidance to help you understand what this means and where to go for support.

Domains

If you have a domain registered with domains.coop but do not have an email or hosting product purchased through them, you are not affected.

Domains.coop will continue to host your existing domain and you'll still be able to manage it through their portal as normal. If you are unsure, check with Domains.coop what products you hold and whether you are affected.

Email services

If you are using the email service provided by Domains.coop you will need to move to a replacement email provider.  There are a number of options to choose from and you can keep your existing email address. This involves a small amount of technical work, so you might want to contact one of the co-ops below, who can help.

Website hosting

If you are using another hosting product provided by domains.coop, e.g. a website, you will need to migrate to another hosting provider.  You will be able to retain your existing website address. Having a .coop domain, doesn't automatically mean that your website is hosted with them, so check with Domains.coop or your website developer where your website is hosted and if you are affected.
