Discover Co-ops - The Power of Community Energy. Free webinar: Wednesday 1 July, 1pm-2pm. Join us online to be inspired by community energy co-operatives. Image to the right shows a shed with a solar panel and swans in a lake.

Climate change, the cost of living, global politics – so much can impact the energy we use just to turn the lights on. Join us to meet some inspiring groups who have put power back into the hands of the community.

About the webinar

To kick off Community Energy fortnight (1 July to 14 July) we are hosting a lunchtime webinar to delve into community energy co-operatives and the amazing work they do. Community energy is all about bringing people together, installing local renewable energy assets like solar panels, and then bringing the benefits back into the community. According to Community Energy England, 575 gigawatt hours of energy were produced in the UK in 2024. That’s enough energy to power 212,963 homes for a year!

Whether you’re climate conscious or curious about co-ops, this webinar is for you. Fantastic speakers will bring their journey to life – from an aspiration to a successful community energy project. You don’t need to know anything about community energy or co-operatives to enjoy this session, and you’ll leave with plenty of inspiration about how you could get involved in community energy.

This webinar is part of a series of Discover Co-ops Webinars, funded by The Cooperative Bank. Join us for these webinars during Community Energy Fortnight to learn about this expanding sector with people and the planet at the heart of it.
