This event is organised by Co-operative Alternatives (Belfast).

This webinar addresses two distinct questions: why do we need more worker co-ops and how do we set them up?

The ‘why' will be covered by Ellie Perrin who will talk about the advantages and benefits of worker co-ops. Ellie will explain why worker co-ops are an ideal vehicle to creating fair employment and more resilient local economies and, through her local qualitative research, the more specific reasons that motivated the emergence of worker co-operatives in Northern Ireland

The ‘how’ will be covered by Tiziana O'Hara, including the development of worker co-ops and essential steps to consider when aiming to setting up member-owned and democratically controlled enterprises.

Co-operative Alternatives is the only body in Northern Ireland entirely devoted to developing successful co-operatives and community benefit societies.
