Join Stir to Action for the relaunch of the Young Cooperators' Network with an online Lunch + Learn series, an informal meetup for those curious about co-ops!

Food is becoming increasingly inaccessible, with the use of means-tested food banks rocketing during the pandemic, which disempower users with lack of choice.

But there is an alternative: Cooperation Town is a new network of community-led food co-ops, providing free and affordable food. The co-ops are owned and run by their members, who democratically decide how to organise the project, and anyone can start a co-op, whether on their street, block or estate.

Shiri Shalmy, a founding member of Cooperation Town, is joining us to talk about the food co-op movement, what it means, and signpost us to resources so we can even start our own!

We'll also be having an informal chat about the YCN, so it's a chance to let us know if there's anything you'd like to see happen in the network, and to make some connections with other members.

Joining Instructions

When you book on, you'll be given a registration link for Zoom. This event is for YCN members only - you can sign up for free here. If you have any problems getting the link / signing up as a member, please email the network secretary [email protected].
