Our mission is to grow the UK co-operative economy through promoting, developing and uniting the co-operative sector. We create the environment so you can flourish, and by connecting co-operatives together, we do more.

Promoting and protecting the work of co-operatives in the UK on your behalf, we run national campaigns such as Co-operatives Fortnight and the International Year of Co‑operatives 2012. We promote the sector and the co-operative business model by working with organisations including the national media, government committees, HM Treasury and the Financial Services Authority.

In 2011 we welcomed 180 new co-operatives into membership, and this year we’ve brought together more than 1000 people through our events, including Co-operative Congress. A host of networks and meetings allows members to share intelligence and best practice throughout the year.
We develop… on your behalf
Providing legal advice to around 300 enterprises each year and helping to establish 150 new co-operatives, our work is supported by publications such as our series of ‘Simply’ guides to make developing your co-operative that little bit easier.
