Responses to the Climate Emergency and Biodiversity Crisis: Why declaring is important – and not enough - Bristol

This event is organised by Bristol University’s Inclusive Economy Initiative and Centre for Law and Enterprise, in collaboration with Bates Wells.

Last year saw a rash of climate emergency declarations from governments (national and local), academic institutions across the globe, representative bodies of numerous professions and industries and many individual businesses.

Why is making a climate declaration important? Has anything changed for those that have? What else can be done to address the emergency?

Hear from speakers immersed in these issues within their organisations, including:

  • Martin Wiles, Head of Sustainability, University of Bristol
  • Dave Hunter, Consulting Solicitor, Bates Wells
  • Fiona Ellis, Director, Business Declares
  • Ben Tolhurst, Head of UK Property Asset Management, JLL

Join the conversation around what businesses, organisations and individuals can do in the face of these crises.
