The New Citizenship Project (NCP) believe that 'everyday participation' is the future for the co-operative movement – and is inviting you to find out why at an Everyday Participation Bootcamp.
In May 2017 NCP started a collaborative innovation project with four leading organisations exploring how co-operatives can really involve people and addressing what the 'citizenshift' means for the movement. Now NCP presents an opportunity for you to get involved.
This one-day training event for those involved in co-operatives, introduces the concept of everyday participation and what it could mean for co-operative organisations more specifically. Using a variety of case studies, inspirations and practical tools and tips, this training day equips attendees with ideas on how to build member loyalty and engagement and really harness the participation and contributions of members - whether workers or customers or both.
"Everyday participation is all about offering members different ways of contributing in small, significant ways on an everyday basis, building a participatory culture from the ground up, and we see this as the future for the co-operative movement." NCP
"Along with rolling out our new purpose and approach, we are really starting to consider 'everyday participation' as a means to delivering 'bringing together ideas, energy and resources to make life better in our communities." Lincolnshire Co-op
"Great experience and eye-opener. Provided the vision and support needed in order to make it clear the direction that the co-operative movement needs to go." The Co-op
"Taking part in this project gave use the renewed focus and confidence that participation is the key to building a thriving membership and as a mutual society is still core to our purpose." Nationwide
NCP is committed to making this bootcamp as accessible as possible and is encouraging co-operatives of all sizes to participate. Smaller co-operatives - with an annual turnover of less than £250,000 - who see the ticket price as prohibitive are encouraged to get in touch.
