We invite you to the next meeting of the Scottish Parliament's Cross Party Group on Co-operatives, where the group will discuss community economic development in Scotland and the role co-ops can play.
Community economic development is a process through which communities become leading partners in local economic strategy and gain greater agency, ownership and control in their economic lives. It can create fertile conditions for co-op development and inclusive wealth creation more generally.
Right now policymakers in Westminster and Scotland are making decisions about what will replace EU Structural and Investment Funds. This could create fresh opportunities to fund and support community economic development, or the new system could bypass communities completely. Read our proposals here.
Running time: 18.00 till 19.45 (agenda to follow)
NOTE: delegates are advised to arrive at the Parliament building 20 minutes before the start of event to allow time to get through security.
