Membership help and advice
Our membership team supports co-ops and community businesses of all types and sizes – from small worker co-ops, to community owned businesses to large retail societies.
How can we help?
Our friendly membership team have been helping co-ops of all types for years. From a full health check of your membership practices to facilitated sessions to engage and motivate employees, members and directors. We can help keep members engaged as your co-operative grows and develops.. Here’s an outline of some of the services we offer:
Start off on the right foot by motivating and educating your new employees, members or directors about co‑operatives. Do they know what a co-op is? How co-ops started? Why they are a good thing for society? We can provide materials for induction training, or facilitate inductions for you.
Workshops and training
We deliver workshops and training sessions on a variety of membership related topics including: What is a co‑op? The history of co‑ops and why they are important and opportunities to engage in the wider movement.
We have a series of ready-made training courses designed specifically for co‑operatives, which we can deliver as open one-day sessions, or in-house at your co‑operative.
We can also develop bespoke training to meet your needs.
Need help developing a membership strategy? Maybe membership engagement is not what it used to be, with fewer active members? Our expert team can help.
We can review a specific element of your membership practices or provide a complete healthcheck. From your membership administration policies and procedures to demonstrating the member value of your co-operative. You will receive a full and independent report outlining areas of excellence, risks and development.
Access expert co-operative advice through our contact package, which means you can get help with queries about governance, finance, HR or membership up to 10 times in a year for £200 – the best value support package your co‑op could sign-up for.
For larger co‑ops, our partner membership might be more appropriate. Find out more about our membership packages.
