With a surge of interest in co-operatives, the national trade association for co-operatives - Co-operatives UK - has launched a new online support service for start-up co-operatives.

Superscrimpers on Channel 4 featured a group of students learning that bulk buying through a food co-operatives saves money. Interest was so high that once the programme ended, the Co-operatives UK website was swamped with potential co-operators.
