Aspatria Farmers Limited
Established in 1870 by two local farmers, William Norman and John Twentyman, who decided to form an organisation to purchase feeding stuffs and manures on a guaranteed basis and to have them tested to check that they were up to standard. This was 36 years before government legislation provided the same guarantee. The society's history is one of genuine integrity. It has always practiced and still practices on the assumption that the reason for its existence is that the quality of the goods and services it offers is of paramount importance.Profits belong to its members. The society welcomes applications from farmers to become shareholders
