Alston Craftworkers Co-operative Limited
We are a group of six designer/makers living and working within a 15 mile radius of Alston. The town itself is set high in the Cumbrian Fells close to the borders of Northumberland and County Durham. The area is incredibly beautiful and inspirational but fairly isolated and sparsely populated so it made sense to form a marketing co-operative in 1991. Although we all have our separate businesses we join together to sell, organise events and exhibitions, share equipment and generally promote the ethos of quality handmade work.
