UN Launch of the International Year of Cooperatives
The
United Nations General Assembly will launch the International Year of
Co-operatives at the UN General Assembly Hall on Monday 31 October 2011 in New
York.
- In the morning there will be an informal round-table
discussion addressing the theme - "Co-operative enterprises build a better
world: contributions to sustainable development". - In the afternoon, Dame Pauline Green, the
International Co-operative Alliance’s President, the United Nations
Secretary-General and the President of the General Assembly will
officially launch the during the General Assembly Plenary Session. - On 31 October and 1 November, the International
Co-operative Alliance organising a series of events and a press conference
alongside the official United Nations launch.
