Just wanted to let you know about a couple of things which may be useful to community energy start ups. We prepared a list of useful contacts for participants at a recent Friends of the Earth event for groups at an early stage of planning or thinking about renewable energy projects. We've made it available to download here in the hope it will also be useful for others. If you've got suggestions of things we can add to it please let us know!

Community Generation Fund seeks applications
Communities wishing to develop community renewable energy generation are being invited to the new Community Generation Fund for loan funding.
The Fund aims to bring creation and ownership of renewable energy generation within the reach of those communities seeking to create clean energy, social engagement and a long term income source for the good of their community.

Update on work with energy co-operatives
Meeting with Secretary of State
The meeting with Chris Huhne went ahead as planned earlier this month, although what we hadn’t planned was that he would resign two days later! Nevertheless it was a useful chance to meet DECC representatives and we will be seeking a meeting with the new Secretary of State in due course.
